The images are fixed to the front, and the entire piece is sealed with non-toxic shellac and a coat of epoxy for durability, water resistance, and a pleasing finish. The metal ear wires are made of surgical steel. They are produced in Bellefonte Pennsylvania, by a small, family owned company.
